Scotland County Full Time Paramedic Position

Scotland County EMS is looking to fill six full-time Paramedic positions to add to our current staff. Scotland EMS is adding an additional ambulance to our shift rotation.

Full-time Paramedic position

Scotland County Emergency Services is seeking applicants for the position of Paramedic to perform skilled work in responding on-site to accidents and other emergencies involving injuries and illness. Determines seriousness of the patient's condition by conducting complete examinations. Employs variety of established emergency medical techniques, methods, and equipment, according to established protocols, to stabilize the patient before transporting to a health care facility. Operates the various technical medical equipment, and the emergency ambulance during all possible conditions. Employee must exercise tact, courtesy, and firmness in dealing with sick or injured persons and the general public. Employee is exposed to the normal hazards of emergency rescue and extrication, including risk of exposure to infectious diseases. Works involves 24 hour shifts.

Minimum Requirements: Graduation from high school and some experience in emergency medical services preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must possess computer skills to enter data and generate electronic reports for the department and hospital use. Possession of a valid NC driver’s license is required.

Special requirements: Must have and maintain current NCOEMS EMT-P certification, ACLS, BCLS/CPR, BTLS/PHTLS, and PALS/PEPP.

Salary begins at $33,192 ($48,000 with scheduled OT and Holiday Hours) with excellent benefit package. Criminal Background checks will be done on final candidates. Pre-employment Drug Test Required. Position also subject to Random Selection Drug Testing.
