Randolph County - Paramedic - $4,500 Sign-On Bonus

Paramedic Sign-on bonus $4,500 – limited time.  Randolph County Emergency Services accepting applications for eight (8) full-time NC credentialed Paramedics.

Sign-on bonus application period begins October 29, 2021 and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. November 12, 2021.

  • Applicant must be a NC certified Paramedic at time of hire;
  • Applicant must successfully complete and/or pass all pre-employment requirements of the department and of Randolph County. This includes, but is not limited to: skills testing, written tests, interview, oral board, physical agility, etc.;
  • Paramedic hourly rate starting at $18.67, OT rate $28.01 (or DOE);
  • Step progression to standard hourly rate $21.03, OT rate $31.55;
  • Standard annual paramedic salary $49,064.  With benefits $69,932;
  • Experienced paramedic may start at higher rate (DOE);
  • Twelve-hour shifts;
  • Day or night shift available (0700-1900 or 1900-0700);
  • Sign-on bonus will be paid in four installments beginning with first salary direct deposit, and every six months thereafter until paid in full. Policy requirements apply;
  • PSS allowed;
  • Future educational incentives possible; and
  • Merit increases possible.

Randolph County Emergency Services has 190 full-time and part-time positions in the following divisions: 9-1-1 Communications, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, the morgue, the Fire Marshal’s office, and Technical Services.  Located in the heart of North Carolina, Randolph County is just over 800 sq. miles, has a population of 145,000+ residents, and has a beautiful landscape.  The NC Zoo, NC Aviation Museum, NC Pottery Museum, John Deere museum, Victory Junction Gang Camp, Harley Davidson museum, and other special places like the Uwharrie National Forest bring over 1.5 million visitors to Randolph County each year.  Average five - eight calls per 12-hour shift.  Eight base locations.  There are two franchised Advanced units currently operating to respond to convalescent and non-emergent calls.  Average total call volume 24,000.
