The National Center for Outdoor & Adventure Education (NCOAE) located in Wilmington, NC is currently looking to hire part time instructors to supplement our team of EMT instructors. Here at NCOAE our EMT instructors are the best in the industry, including EMT-Paramedics, firefighters, military operations specialists, and experts in critical care management. We offer an intensive 21 day EMT-Basic course that satisfies eligibility requirements for the National Registry and NC EMT certification. Classes meet Monday through Sunday.
The Intensive EMT course that we offer provides a unique and exciting teaching environment that is team focused and different from most teaching institutions. Our instructors provide theory and skills instruction that keeps in compliance with approved curricula and industry standards. Instructors are expected to ensure that students have a learning experience that reflects current practices required in a career in the EMS field.
Responsibilities:
Providing instruction to students in accordance with program curricula, course syllabi/requirements and objectives
Instructing students on the application of equipment, including conducting skills labs
Evaluating student progress in attaining program knowledge and skills.
Participating in curriculum and program reviews
Minimum Qualifications:
Current certification in the State of North Carolina as an EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, or Nurse.
Minimum three years of previous experience as an EMT, AEMT or Paramedic
Minimum of one year teaching experience in an EMS/EMT program is desired
Level 1 certification preferred
Ability to create an interactive and supportive learning environment
Current CPR certification
Solid knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles and instructional methods
Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively and professionally with other faculty, students and staff
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
Must be organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task
Must have working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
