Paramedic COVID Specialist (Yadkin County)

Position: Paramedic COVID Specialist  

About the Position: This newly created position mirrors a traditional Community Paramedic but focuses on the COVID-19 Pandemic here in Yadkin County. The Paramedic COVID Specialist will work under the Operations Manager and closely with county health officials in its response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This positon requires a highly motivated, disciplined individual who has excellent time-management skills.

Salary Range: $37,844 - $56,767. Salary is based on years of experience, education, and other qualifying certificate courses.

Work Schedule: 8 hours shifts with some night and weekend shifts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Paramedic Certification by the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a full-time Paramedic, or the ability to demonstrate the competencies of a three year Paramedic
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • FEMA Independent Study Courses: IS-100.c, IS-200.c, IS-700.b, and IS-800.c within 1 year of hire
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Ability to meet the physical, communication, and other like requirements listed in the job description

Yadkin County is a rural community located west of Winston-Salem, NC. We serve 37,000+ citizens, as well as the visitors and travelers who commute into and through our County every day. Last year, we responded to over 5,700 request for service utilizing 5 ALS transport units and 1 QRV.
