Job Summary: The EMS Manager is responsible for assessing, planning, evaluating, and coordinating patient care as well as the clinical care delivery process as directed by the Director of Emergency Services. The EMS Manager serves as a role model and resource to staff who has twenty-four hour accountability for the department's operation.

Minimum Requirements: Current NCOEMS Paramedic credential or eligible for North Carolina credential. Current AHA BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS provider certifications. Three years of experience as an EMT Paramedic. Two years of experience as an EMS Instructor. Two years of supervisory or managerial experience. Ability to drive an ambulance safely and efficiently. Successful completion of Emergency Vehicle Driver (EVD) course within one year of hire. Maintainence of EVD certification; required EVD refresher course every two years. All personnel operating CarolinaEast owned ambulances must have a minimum of three years of driving experience. Possess effective oral and written communication skills. Possess strong leadership qualities. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient. The individual must demonstrate the ability to assess data reflective to the patient's status. The employee must be able to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide care as appropriate.
