Full Time Paramedic Positions 24/72 Schedule **$3000.00 Sign-on Bonus**

Position Summary

Central Carolina EMS is currently seeking motivated professional  individuals that are responsible, reliable, and have an excellent customer service orientation to provide Advanced Life Support Services to individuals that live and travel throughout Lee County, North Carolina. 

Central Carolina EMS is located in the heart of Lee County, North Carolina, which is approximately 259 sq. miles, which is well centered in the state, just south of Raleigh. Central Carolina is operating 3 Advanced Life Support Ambulances (working a 24 hour/72 hour schedule) and 1 Peak Load Advanced Life Support Ambulance (working eight hour days/five days a week) that service the 62,000 residences that dwell and/or recreate within our borders. Being directly connected to Central Carolina Hospital, the EMS services provides: BLS, ALS, inter-facility, and scheduled transports, with 1 Wheel chair van during shifts as well that is staff by EMT level. Equipment on the trucks include: LifePak 15, Stryker Power Stretcher.

Duties and Responsibilities

•  Serves as a Paramedic in charge on calls; directing care, response, and overseeing EMT, AEMT's as well as students assigned to ride.
•  Provides Emergency Medical Care in accordance with NCOEMS established protocols. 
• Transports patients to the local and regional hospitals based the patients needs. 
• Accurately completing all patient care reports through the electronic PCR system, while collecting accurate billing information from the patient and/or facility. 
• Participates in continuing education to maintain credentials and proficiency with skills. 
• Inspects and check's off equipment daily; maintaining a constant state of readiness to respond to calls as dispatched. 
• Maintains cleanliness of equipment, truck and station: cleaning, sweeping, mopping, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols. 
• Knowledge of equipment utilized in emergency care of patients. 
• Knowledge of county geography, locations of roads and streets.
• Skilled in the ability to properly assess and recognize patients that are exhibiting signs of trauma or other medical-related issues.
• Ability to work in a diverse socioeconomic population based on the situations that are encountered. 
• Ability to respond quickly and calmly in stressful situations. 
• Ability to drive an emergency vehicle in all weather and road conditions, safely, and in accordance with NC State Motor vehicle laws. 
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully to first responders, family, patients, and the public. 
• Ability to accurately record services provided on required reporting forms. 
• Ability to work well in a team setting with other employees and first responding agencies. 

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or General Education Development Diploma (GED).

Licensing and Certifications

Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License; Certification by the State of North Carolina Office of EMS as a Paramedic. American Heart Association Basic Life Support; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) *Note* ACLS and PALS can be acquired in the first 60 days of employment. 

Preferred Certifications 

 International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), National Incident Command Management System Certifications (NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800); Hazmat certification.
