Full-Time EMS Training Officer (Yadkin County)

Position: Full-Time Training Officer (Mon.-Fri.)

Salary Range: $49,760 - $74,640. Salary is based on years of experience, formal education, and other qualifying certificate courses.


About the Yadkin County EMS Training Officer Position:

This position will be serving as Yadkin County’s Full-Time EMS Training Officer. The Training Officer will be scheduled to work Monday – Friday and is subject to call back for EOC activations and other events as needed. The Training Officer will be responsible for things such as onboarding of new employees/orientation, as well as the planning, preparation, scheduling, and delivery of all continuing education for departmental ALS education (to include paid training days for full-time staff) as well as countywide BLS education for the fire and rescue departments. This person must be highly motivated and must be able to set and execute a vision for the training department. This position is subject to work as part of Yadkin County’s All-Hazards Incident Management Team during times of EOC activations.


Work Schedule: Mon – Fri 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Paramedic Certification by the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services
  • NCOEMS Level I Instructor
  • 4 years of experience as a North Carolina Paramedic
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • FEMA IS 100.c, 200.c, 700.b , 800.c
  • ICS 300 and 400 within 1 year of hire
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Ability to meet the physical, communication, and other like requirements listed in the online job description


About Yadkin County EMS:

Yadkin County is a rural community located west of Winston-Salem, NC. We serve over 37,000 citizens, as well as the visitors and travelers who commute through our County every day. Last year, between 4 shifts, we responded to over 5,500 request for service utilizing 5 ALS transport units, 2 Community Paramedics, and 1 QRV staffed by the EMS Shift Supervisor.
