Four Paramedic Positions Available in Jones County

Paramedic Position - Full time

 

Jones County Emergency Medical Services is looking to fill four Paramedic Positions. These positions are being added to the existing EMS services. We will be extending our 12 hour ambulance to a twenty four hour service making both ambulances 24 hour. The starting  date will be July1,2021.  This crew will work a 24 on 72 off schedule

 The hiring range for the position will be $35,241 - $39,871 before overtime pay.

Job Duties

The Paramedic will provide emergency medical care and Advanced Life Support to residents and visitors of the County. They shall also be responsible to:

 Assist in maintaining vehicles and equipment in a state of readiness. 

Determine extent of illness or injury and establish priorities for required care; transmit vital information and telemetry data to receiving medical care facility.  

Provide various treatment techniques including, but not limited to: airway management, intravenous therapy, drug administration, cardiac monitoring, defibrillation and electrocardiogram interpretation. Complete and file all required documentation in a timely manner.

Assist in performing inspections of vehicles, equipment, and cleaning of station, grounds, and other duties assigned by the EMS Director.

Participate in continuing education activities and maintain certification.

All work is performed under limited supervision of the EMS Director.

 

Position Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of the principles of anatomy and physiology; thorough knowledge of the principles and techniques of emergency medical care, including diagnosis, proper treatment and transportation; thorough knowledge of equipment and supplies used in the emergency care of patients and victims of accidents; thorough knowledge of the streets and road system and physical layout of the County; skill in diagnosing a victim’s condition and applying emergency medical care; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to keep records and prepare reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, associates, patients and their families, other emergency service agencies and the general public. Must hold a valid, unrestricted North Carolina drivers license.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

High School diploma/GED and considerable experience in emergency medical services, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must hold valid State or National Paramedic Certification.
