The Town of Newport Fire Department is currently accepting applications for a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic.  Successful candidate will work a 48/96 shift schedule. Our department covers seventy-five square miles of response area composed of rural and suburban district. Shift personnel cross-staff fire apparatus and ALS transport units with a steadily increasing call volume, answering over 2500 calls for service in 2021.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid NC Driver’s License
  • NC Firefighter Level I
  • NC Hazardous Materials Level I
  • NC Paramedic
  • ACLS, PALS, BCLS, PHTLS
  • NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, & 800

 

Applicants must be physically capable of carrying out the duties associated with firefighting and EMS. Successful candidate will be required to pass boarding with the Carteret County Medical Director, prior to the first assigned shift day.

Starting Salary with built-in overtime: $52,392.00.
