The Harnett County Emergency Medical Services Division is recruiting for the EMS Lieutenant position. The employee will be performing in a lead worker role and acts in the absence of the EMS District Chief while performing paramedic level life support, stabilization procedures, and emergency medical care, and continued ALS care in inter-facility transports for the Emergency Medical Services unit of the County.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school and some experience in emergency medical service work as a Paramedic; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
License and Certifications:
North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services Paramedic Certification. Possession of a valid NC driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Instructor: BLS, PALS, ACLS, ITLS and/or PHTLS.
EVD, NIMS and HazMat certificate is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform the physical life functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Must be able to perform very heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to lift 150 pounds with assistance. Must be physically able to read extensively; to operate a variety of machinery and specialized medical equipment; to inspect patients and monitor equipment; to administer medications; to operate a computer; and to inspect and assemble parts and use measurement devices.
