The Harnett County Emergency Medical Services Division is currently recruiting for an Assistant Chief of Logistics. This position serves as the technical assistant to the Emergency Medical Services Chief with a specific focus on EMS logistics.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Graduation from high school and at least two years of experience in emergency medical service work as a paramedic.
Preferred Qualifications:
BLS, PALS, ACLS, ITLS and/or PHTLS, EVD, NIMS and HazMat; North Carolina Class A Non CDL Driver's License is preferred.
Licensing and Certifications:
A valid North Carolina Driver’s License; Certification by the State of North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services as a paramedic; Ability to obtain NC Class A Non CDL Driver’s License within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform very heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift objects when performing paramedic duties. Must be able to lift 150 pounds with assistance. Must possess the visual acuity to operate mobile and computer equipment, conduct visual inspections, monitor work site progress, administer emergency medical services to the public, and use measurement devices.
Successful completion of a drug screening and criminal background check will be required as a condition of employment.
