Cabarrus County EMS - Full time EMT and Paramedic

Cabarrus County EMS is accepting applications for the following positions:

  1. Full Time EMT (must obtain Paramedic within 24 months of hire)
  2. Full Time Paramedic

Cabarrus EMS is a progressive EMS system which provides extremely advanced care to the population of over 216,000 and provides coverage for major spectator events. The service responded to over 33,150 calls in 2020 with an average response time of 8 minutes. The agency currently deploys 13 paramedic units and community paramedics. The system is involved in many areas to improve patient care such as community education and advanced cardiac/stroke programs. The service operates under a liberal set of patient care protocols that include RSI, adult intraosseous, 12 Lead EKG, capnography, CPAP, spinal clearance, QCPR, TXA, and digital EKG transmission with transports directly to the cath lab. Cardiac arrest ROSC and survival to discharge rates are some of the best in the nation. Cabarrus EMS also provides medics for specialty response teams and fields a NC SMAT III team. The agency has been a county service since its inception in 1973. Employees receive paid continuing education in local courses. The agency provides paid membership for employees in the NC Association of Rescue and EMS. Employees work 12 hour shifts.

  • The annual salary range for EMT position is $34,028 – 38,792.
  • The annual salary range for the Paramedic position is $39,395.20 – 44,907.20.
