Course Description:
The course is designed to prepare emergency medical service providers for the role of tactical medic. The program will be physically and psychologically intense. Students will learn skills specific to the role of tactical medical provider while gaining an operational level awareness of tactical team operations. The course is a traditional seated course with web supported material requiring additional study. Students successfully completing the course are eligible (not required) to sit for the IBSC Tactical Paramedic Exam (TP-C) at their expense.

Required Equipment: Students must bring the following items to class (firearms may NOT be brought to campus…they are to be brought to the range only on designated days)
- Water source (hydration device, canteen, etc.)
- Basic life support medical kit/pouch (tourniquet, bandages, basic airway, stethoscope)
- Ballistic helmet
- Body armor (soft, hard, or plates)
- Tactical load bearing vest or other tactical vest
- Ear protection
- Eye protection
- Flashlight with batteries
- Insect repellent and sunscreen
- Handgun chambered in 9 mm (only bring to range on designated days)
- Three handgun magazines with pouches
- Handgun holster (thigh or hip required…no shoulder holsters are permitted)
- Wet weather gear
- Cold weather gear
- Multi-tool
Equipment Supplied by College
- 9mm handguns may be available for use
- Carbine when required .223/5.56mm
- Gas masks
- Ammunition (purchased with student fee)
