Pamlico CC - EMT Hybrid Class


EMT Hybrid Course - August 5, 2021 to January 27, 2022


The EMT class is designed to introduce students to basic emergency medical care. Topics include preparatory, airway, patient assessment, medical emergencies, trauma, pediatrics, operations, and more. The program will meet NCOEMS standards and upon completion students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge necessary to pass the North Carolina and National Registry EMT Certification Exam. This class will use traditional in-class techniques combined with the Brady MyLab which is an online/digital program packed full of features you will not find in any textbook. Pre- and post-tests to check your comprehension before and after finishing personalized homework assignments and the ability to create personalized study plans. The experienced and dedicated instructors will also be there to answer questions and help you navigate the course.


Class meets online and at the Pamlico Community College Public Safety and Emergency Management (Bayboro Campus) one night a week, alternating Mondays, and Thursdays, 5:30PM – 9:30PM with some Saturday classes.


Student/Course Prerequisites:


1. 17 years of age on or before the official end date of the course.


2. Possession of a high school diploma, high school equivalency or successful completion of an exam assessing basic reading comprehension skills at a minimum at the eleventh-grade level.
