Mondays and Wednesdays 6-10pm,  4.5 Saturdays 8:30am-5:30pm 


This 240 Hour Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course follows National EMS Education Standards. This course includes all skills and course information necessary to provide emergency care at the basic care level. This class is offered at the Lincoln Campus of Gaston College, 511 S. Aspen St, Lincolnton, NC Room # 304. 

Topics include preparatory, airway, patient assessment, medical emergencies, trauma, infants and children, and operations. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve North Carolina State or National Registry EMT certification. This EMT level could be utilized in a Basic Life Support ambulance service, fire service, or other specialized rescue agency. Upon completion of the EMT course, the student will have been tested on classroom instruction, psychomotor skills competency, and performance. Each student must complete 48 hours of ambulance clinical ride time. After successful completion of the class,student will be eligible to take the N.C. State and national written examinations.


Some members of public safety agencies may be elibigle for fee waivers.
