Emergency Medical Responder Academy
This EMR Course is designed to educate interested adults to recognize a variety of medical and trauma emergencies and provide emergency care promptly and efficiently.
Course work includes emphasis on evaluating diagnostic signs and determining the extent of injury or illness through use of skills and techniques taught using a variety of methods including online, classroom, video, and psychomotor skills sessions.
Upon completion of this course students will be prepared to deal properly with life-threatening emergencies to which they may have to respond and provide basic life support measures.
Upon completion of this course the students will be eligible to take the certification test for the North Carolina Office of EMS or National Registry of Emergency Medical Responder and be employed in a variety of medical settings.
