Part of the recent Trauma Legislation for North Carolina directs that hospitals
affiliate with a Trauma Regional Advisory Committee, or RAC. Hospitals may affiliate
with any of the present 7 RACs or, at their option, may affiliate with more then one RAC,
with one designated as the Administrative RAC.
The seven RACs are:

- Eastern RAC, Pitt County Memorial Hospital
- Metrolina Trauma Advisory Committee, Carolinas Medical Center
- Mountain Area Trauma RAC, Mission-St. Joseph's Hospital
