Washington-Tyrrell County EMS is currently accepting applications for Full Time Paramedic. If you are ready to work for a progressive and aggressive system, now is your chance.  Washington-Tyrrell County EMS (WTCEMS) has an opportunity for you to grow and use all of you pre-hospital skills and treatment options.  As a rural county we expect and offer the ability to treat our patients with longer transport times than other systems can offer. This gives you the chance to really experience what pre-hospital health care should be.  WTCEMS has standing orders for all currently approved NCCEP protocols, and procedures.  WTCEMS offers up to date equipment, and a modern fleet.  WTCEMS offers the opportunity to work in a system with RSI, Lifpak 15 monitors, EZ IO, Binder lift,  fleet of power Stryker stretchers, Stryker stair chairs with tread system, and many other innovative equipment with your, and patient safety in mind.  WTCEMS has an aggressive cardiac arrest management concept in place with a ROSC rate of 56%!  Applicants shall be high school graduates with experience in emergency medical care. Applicant must currently be credentialed at the NCOEMS level in which they are applying for.

Full time EMS employees work a 24/48 hour shift schedule. Washington County will be evaluating the ability to change to a 24/72 depending on the availability of paramedics.  EMS employees are now getting time and one half for all hours over 40 in a work week. NET employees work a 40 hour week. These shifts will be at one of our three stations.  Applicant must possess a valid NC driver’s license, NC certification at the level of application or the ability to obtain legal reciprocity, and have the ability to deal tactfully with the public.

Salary negotiable based upon experience.
