Paramedic Emergency Services Posting # 533694-2044

Description:      This position is responsible for responding to emergency calls, at the paramedic level, to determine the extent of illness or injury and establishing priorities for required care; performing emergency medical care in accordance with established guidelines and written and verbal instructions from physicians.  Other duties include administering medications and IV solutions and inserting airways; transporting persons to the appropriate medical facilities; and performing related tasks as required.


Requirements:     Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by EMT, Advanced EMT, and Paramedic courses provided by the North Carolina State Office of EMS. Prefer applicants with a minimum of two years’ experience and training in emergency medical care.  Additional requirements include an appropriate State of N.C. driver’s license, and the possession of State of N. C. certification as an EMT at the Paramedic level. This is a 12 hour position. Please provide a photocopy of all certifications.


Compensation:    The hiring range for this position is $ 35,425- $44,853.  Halifax County provides a comprehensive employee benefits package, including membership in the N.C. Local Government Employees’ Retirement System.
