Iredell County EMS Certified Peer Support Specialist

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The Certified Peer Support Specialist should be able to draw upon personal

life experience in his/her work with clients and feel comfortable with the self-disclosure of some aspects of

those experiences with mental health issues, substance abuse issues, and/or treatment and recovery, while

maintaining appropriate boundaries. The CPPS also provides essential expertise and consultation to promote

a culture in which each individual’s circumstances are recognized, understood, respected and integrated into

treatment, rehabilitation, and community self-help activities.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Certification as a Peer Support Specialist. Must be

comfortable discussing social and drug-related issues and experiences in a non-judgmental manner with

individuals and groups. CPR Certification desirable. Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required.

WORK SCHEDULE: Sunday – Saturday / 40-Hour/Week / Overtime as needed

SALARY RANGE: $35,444.10 - $54,974.00 (Grade 26)

HIRING RANGE: $35,444.10 - $41,244.10
