Hyde County EMS EMT-Paramedic Full-Time

The Hyde County Emergency Services Department, EMS Branch is currently seeking applicants for one (1) full-time Paramedic position.

Hyde County EMS works a 2 day on 6 day off shift rotation, with a call volume averaging around 1000 calls per year.  Hyde County EMS is a very rural service providing EMS Coverage to both mainland Hyde County communities as well as Ocracoke Island.  Hyde County EMS uses a broad and progressive set of protocols and high quality Medical Direction to care for patients.  Transport times average an hour or a little more, allowing you to fully employ your protocols, scope of practice, and skills to provide high quality care to patients over longer timeframes.

Hyde County is located in eastern North Carolina approximately 1.5 hours from Nags Head and 2 hours from Greenville.

Prospective applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and local credential technical scope of practice exam.

Minimum requirements are a high school diploma or equivalency, current NC Driver’s License and current NC Paramedic credential with ITLS, ACLS, PALS, CPR, and completion of ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800.
