DEPARTMENT: Harnett County Emergency Services / EMS Division JOB TYPE: Part-time Regular

THE POSITION Harnett County Emergency Services Department’s Division of Emergency Medical Services currently has regular part-time EMT-Basic positions available. An employee in this class is responsible for responding to the scene of emergency and non-emergency calls as a member of a two-person ambulance crew and applying necessary medical treatment to sick or injured persons at the EMT-Basic level, and transporting persons to and/or from medical facilities and other locations.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Work includes assuring that quality emergency patient care standards are in place, proper equipment and treatment are available and sound judgment and treatment decisions are made. Completes necessary records and reports for emergency and non-emergency calls including information for billing documentation and legal accountability. Participates in cleaning and maintaining of ambulance, equipment, station house and premises.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Graduation from high school and some experience as an Emergency Medical Technician or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Certification by the North Carolina Medical Examiners Board as an Emergency Medical Technician – Basic Level. Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license. CPR Certification. Must be able to lift 150 lbs. with assistance.

SALARY $14.63/Hour

Successful completion of a drug screening and criminal background check will be required as a condition of employment. Certain designated safety-sensitive positions also require completion of post-offer pre-employment physicals.
