Harnett County Emergency Services / EMS Division Job Opportunity Paramedic (EMS 1111)

THE POSITION  Harnett County Emergency Services Department’s Emergency Medical Services Division currently has regular part-time Paramedic positions available.  An employee in this class is responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency calls as a member of a two-person ambulance crew and providing Paramedic level medical care and treatment to patients that are transported to and/or from medical facilities and other locations.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES  Serves as a member of an emergency or non-emergency ambulance responding to calls for assistance and transporting patients as necessary. Administers Paramedic level life support techniques and procedures based on patient assessment. Completes necessary records and reports for emergency and non-emergency calls including information for billing documentation, and legal accountability. Participates in cleaning and maintaining of ambulance, equipment, station house and premises.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS  Graduation from high school and some experience as a Paramedic or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION   Certification by the State of North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services as a Paramedic. Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license. Must be able to lift 150 lbs. with assistance.

SALARY  $19.60/Hour

Successful completion of a drug screening and criminal background check will be required as a condition of employment. Certain designated safety-sensitive positions also require completion of post-offer pre-employment physicals.
