EMS Captain

Fort Barnwell Rescue Squad will be accepting resumes for the 2020 EMS Captain position Aug 1, 2019 through Aug 31, 2019. The full time start date for this position will be Jan 1, 2020 with flexible training preceding this date. Fort Barnwell Rescue Squad is a Paramedic level agency providing 911 scene response in western Craven County, NC.

The EMS Captain is responsible for EMS operations as a whole to include but not limited to: Staff scheduling, recruiting, basic payroll service, roster management, inventory, supply procurement, and vehicle and building maintenance scheduling. The EMS Captain will coordinate with the squad President to complete an annual line item budget request. The EMS Captain also staffs an ambulance on a 24/72 rotation. The EMS Captain is responsible for attending to regularly scheduled meetings each month that may be delegated to qualified individuals when schedule conflicts arise.

The EMS Captain should be an experienced individual with initiative to complete tasks. Candidates should have attention to detail, time management, and delegation skills.

Any position offers will be contingent upon medical clearance from the EMS Medical Director and a satisfactory pre-employment drug test.

Interested candidates must meet the following requirements:

- NC Paramedic certification with 5 or more years 911 experience

- Valid NC Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record

- CPR, ACLS, PALS

- Must be able to push, pull, or lift 100lbs

Prefer:

- ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 (Must be obtained within 6 months of hire)

- ICS 300, 400 (Must be obtained within 12 months of hire)

- Previous management experience
