Edgecombe Community College (Hybrid Instructor Methodology Course)

The ECC EMS Program will be offering an EMS Instructor Methodology Course. This class will be a hybrid-style format with virtual, online and traditional classroom requirements. This class meets the requirements as set forth by the NCOEMS to achieve EMS instructor-level credentialing. 

 

Class will start on August 3rd via zoom and end with an NCOEMS instructor workshop the week of October 19th. 

 

The purpose of this course is to provide students who are clinically competent in a specific EMS content area with the instructional knowledge, resources, and skills to effectively deliver quality EMS education. The course presents educational concepts, practices, and resources across a wide range of educational topics, from the basic psychology of learning, to classroom management, to ethical issues in education, to student and course evaluation. The course focuses on instructional preparation, presentation and evaluation, and represents consensus among professional EMS educators as to essential knowledge, skills, and practices required to provide quality EMS educational programs.

  • a copy of your North Carolina EMS credential;
  • a letter from your agency verifying at least 3 years of field experience at your scope of practice credential level; and
  • a copy of your high school equivalency, high school or college transcript.

Registration Fee: $70 (unless affiliated with an eligible North Carolina Fire/Rescue/LEO/EMS agency or NC-based military)
