Emergency Medical Technician 1/15/19 - 5/25/19

 

The EMT class is designed to introduce students to basic emergency medical care. Topics include preparatory, airway, patient assessment, medical emergencies, trauma, pediatrics and operations. Upon completion students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge necessary to pass the North Carolina and National Registry EMT Certification Exam. 

How do I enroll in this program?

1) Complete the Program Interest Form at (https://www.davidsonccc.edu/emt ) and submit to the Public Safety Bldg., Office # 112 or via email to Diane Hedecock at diane_hedgecock@davidsonccc.edu  or for questions by phone at (336) 224-4791

2) Provide proof of either High School Diploma,  college credit for English or provide TABE reading test score 11th grade or higher. TABE reading test are available       at DCCC at no cost, permission slips for testing can be obtained from Diane Hedgecock Public Safety Bldg. Office 112

EMS uniform type blue or black pants, black belt, black boots with reinforced toe and a DCCC EMS shirt (that can be purchased at the Campus Bookstore)

Student/Course prerequisites: A) 17 years of age on or before the official end date of the course; B) High school diploma or high school equivalent; and proof of basic reading comprehension skills at a minimum of the eleventh grade level.

 

Students must be in attendance and recorded as present at least once on or before 1/22/19 to continue with the course.
