Course Description/Overview

Community paramedicine (CP) is a new and growing field that focuses on expanding the traditional role of paramedics and other EMS providers. Community paramedics function in various capacities and with an interdisciplinary approach that encompasses all aspects of healthcare, specifically for behavioral health and chronic conditions.  This community paramedic course will prepare students to function in the outpatient setting while considering the preventive and holistic aspects of patient care.  This course will also prepare paramedics to sit for the International Board of Specialty Certification’s Community Paramedic exam.
