AEMT at College of The Albemarle

The COA EMS Program will offer the next AEMT course in a Virtual/Hybrid format that will operate in the following manner:

  • Students will be required to login online for virtual instruction once a week. There will be two opportunities for this part; one on Mondays from 6p - 8p and one on Tuesday mornings from 9a - 11a.
  • Students will be required to attend a four-hour lab session each week. (not every week actually) There will be several opportunities to attend the lab portion. Depending on the student geography, labs will be offered on multiple days on multiple campuses. (i.e. Tuesday's session may be offered at Elizabeth City while Wednesday's session is held at the Dare campus and Thursday's session held at Currituck, etc...) The student pool will determine where the sites are located and efforts will be made to ensure there are morning, afternoon, and evening offerings for that as well.
  • Students will be required to complete online work each week.
  • Students will be required to complete 48 hours of hospital clinical time.
  • Students will be required to complete 48 hours of EMS field time.

It is set to begin June 1, 2020 and will end before December 31, 2020.
